Honest verdict on Braai — good but not exceptional

Braai here was solidly made — smoky and braaied without anything to complain about. chakalaka relish was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Cape Malay cuisine reflects the heritage of enslaved people brought from Southeast Asia. The a weekend braai atmosphere was pleasant enough. Pinotage wine was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Braai this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
