Underwhelming Biltong — expected more

I was looking forward to Biltong here based on the reputation. The reality was disappointing. The spiced and savoury character that makes this dish special was muted — either from shortcuts with boerewors spice mix or from scaling up production at the expense of quality.

the braai is a cross-cultural South African institution that transcends racial and social divides. The a Cape Malay restaurant in Cape Town setting I was hoping for wasn't quite there either. Amarula cream liqueur was available but not suggested appropriately. I've had much better versions elsewhere. Two stars because the dish concept is sound; the execution let it down.
