First time trying Biltong — completely converted

I had never tried Biltong before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The robust and satisfying taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. boerewors spice mix is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a Cape Malay restaurant in Cape Town setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. Cape Malay cuisine reflects the heritage of enslaved people brought from Southeast Asia. My server recommended Pinotage wine alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Biltong. Outstanding first encounter.
