Holiday memory — Satay that transported me back
I first ate Satay on a trip five years ago and have been searching for a version this good ever since. This restaurant finally delivered the deeply umami from prawn paste quality I remembered. sambal belacan paste was handled correctly — something most restaurants here get slightly wrong.
the cuisine blends Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Peranakan traditions in a unique fusion. It was the a kopitiam coffee shop memory that I was really chasing and this recreated it. teh tarik pulled tea was offered and brought the whole experience together. Some dishes are attached to a time and place. This one finally restored that attachment.
