Restaurant review — Pelmeni that actually delivered

I'm sceptical of any restaurant claiming to do Pelmeni well, having been disappointed often enough. This one delivered. The rich and dairy-forward base was authentic and the use of salted herring showed real knowledge.

Russian New Year table is the most important annual food event, laden with Olivier salad, herring under fur coat, and other Soviet-era staples. The atmosphere was genuinely a Moscow restaurant, which the food matched. kvas came with the meal as it should. The portions were generous and the price was fair. A reliable place for this dish.
