Honest verdict on Borscht — good but not exceptional

Borscht here was solidly made — savoury and satisfying without anything to complain about. pickled vegetables was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

the Russian tea tradition using a samovar is centuries old and central to social hospitality. The a traditional Russian stolovaya canteen atmosphere was pleasant enough. kvas was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Borscht this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
