First time trying Bigos — completely converted

I had never tried Bigos before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The earthy from mushrooms taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. sour rye sourdough is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a Warsaw milk bar setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. the Christmas Eve wigilia meal has strict traditional rules including twelve meatless dishes. My server recommended kompot fruit drink alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Bigos. Outstanding first encounter.
