Finding the best Barszcz in the city — a personal search
I spent three months trying every version of Barszcz I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled dried mushrooms with genuine knowledge and the tangy and hearty result was noticeably superior.
the Christmas Eve wigilia meal has strict traditional rules including twelve meatless dishes. The winning restaurant had the right a home kitchen in winter feel — unpretentious and focused on the food. Polish beer was suggested correctly. Worth the search. When Barszcz is made properly it's a completely different experience.
