Holiday memory — Arroz con Leche that transported me back
I first ate Arroz con Leche on a trip five years ago and have been searching for a version this good ever since. This restaurant finally delivered the bright and citrusy quality I remembered. aji amarillo pepper was handled correctly — something most restaurants here get slightly wrong.
Peruvian cuisine blends indigenous Andean traditions with Japanese, Chinese, African, and Spanish influences. It was the a Novoandino contemporary Peruvian restaurant memory that I was really chasing and this recreated it. Inca Kola was offered and brought the whole experience together. Some dishes are attached to a time and place. This one finally restored that attachment.
