First time trying Karahi — completely converted
I had never tried Karahi before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The rich with slow-cooked depth taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. ghee is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.
The a Karachi biryani house setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. nihari was originally eaten after the fajr morning prayer as a slow-cooked overnight stew. My server recommended rooh afza rose syrup drink alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Karahi. Outstanding first encounter.
