Restaurant review — Hainanese Chicken Rice that actually delivered

I'm sceptical of any restaurant claiming to do Hainanese Chicken Rice well, having been disappointed often enough. This one delivered. The bold and complex base was authentic and the use of belacan shrimp paste showed real knowledge.

Penang is considered the food capital of Malaysia and rivals Singapore for hawker excellence. The atmosphere was genuinely a Baba Nyonya Peranakan restaurant, which the food matched. Anchor beer came with the meal as it should. The portions were generous and the price was fair. A reliable place for this dish.
