Decent Udon — nothing more, nothing less
Udon at this place was fine. The subtly sweet and salty flavour was there but not distinguished. soy sauce was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.
Japanese cuisine philosophy of shokunin craftsmanship shapes how even simple dishes are prepared. The a ramen shop at lunchtime setting was generic rather than immersive. barley tea was offered but not explained. If you're in the area and want Udon it'll do. If you're going out of your way, look elsewhere.
