Honest verdict on Udon — good but not exceptional
Udon here was solidly made — subtly sweet and salty without anything to complain about. fresh wasabi was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.
seasonal ingredients guide the menu in traditional settings. The a high-end kaiseki setting atmosphere was pleasant enough. cold Sapporo beer was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Udon this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
