Decent Tonkatsu — nothing more, nothing less

Tonkatsu at this place was fine. The subtly sweet and salty flavour was there but not distinguished. sake was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.

seasonal ingredients guide the menu in traditional settings. The a ramen shop at lunchtime setting was generic rather than immersive. barley tea was offered but not explained. If you're in the area and want Tonkatsu it'll do. If you're going out of your way, look elsewhere.
