Honest verdict on Takoyaki — good but not exceptional

Takoyaki here was solidly made — subtly sweet and salty without anything to complain about. dashi stock was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Japanese cuisine philosophy of shokunin craftsmanship shapes how even simple dishes are prepared. The a ramen shop at lunchtime atmosphere was pleasant enough. barley tea was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Takoyaki this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
