First time trying Patty — completely converted
I had never tried Patty before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The boldly spiced taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. ackee fruit is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.
The a roadside rum bar setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. ackee is legally restricted for export when unripe due to toxicity — an unusual national dish ingredient. My server recommended sorrel drink alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Patty. Outstanding first encounter.
