Restaurant review — Escovitch Fish that actually delivered
I'm sceptical of any restaurant claiming to do Escovitch Fish well, having been disappointed often enough. This one delivered. The rich and coconut-sweet base was authentic and the use of ackee fruit showed real knowledge.
ackee is legally restricted for export when unripe due to toxicity — an unusual national dish ingredient. The atmosphere was genuinely a beach seafood restaurant, which the food matched. sorrel drink came with the meal as it should. The portions were generous and the price was fair. A reliable place for this dish.
