Shakshuka for a dinner party — went down extremely well
I made Shakshuka for eight guests who had varying familiarity with the cuisine. Every single person asked for the recipe. The warmly spiced profile was the main talking point — no one had quite experienced pomegranate seeds used that way before.
Israeli cuisine is shaped by Jewish diaspora traditions from across the world fused with local Levantine ingredients. I explained the a fusion restaurant mixing Mediterranean traditions context as I served it which helped people appreciate it fully. fresh orange juice was what I offered alongside and it worked perfectly. Excellent dinner party dish — impressive without being inaccessible.
