Street food Tempeh — the authentic version

The best Tempeh I've ever had came from a street stall, not a restaurant. The complex from slow-cooked rendang intensity was completely different — more direct and uncompromised. terasi shrimp paste was used without hesitation, the way it should be.

Indonesian cuisine spans over 17,000 islands with dramatically different regional traditions. The a Padang restaurant with displayed dishes setting meant eating standing up or on a low stool, which is how this food is supposed to be encountered. jamu herbal drink was sold right next to it. Don't wait to find the 'right' restaurant. Find the street version first.
