Some dishes exist to comfort and Sate Lilit is absolutely in that category. The rich and coconut-forward quality works on something almost primal — you feel the warmth of it immediately. tempeh does work that no substitute can replicate.

Sate Lilit exceeded every expectation

Sate Lilit at this place was fine. The deeply spiced with galangal and lemongrass flavour was there but not distinguished. kecap manis sweet soy was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.
