Honest verdict on Satay — good but not exceptional

Satay here was solidly made — deeply spiced with galangal and lemongrass without anything to complain about. tempeh was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Indonesian cuisine spans over 17,000 islands with dramatically different regional traditions. The a Padang restaurant with displayed dishes atmosphere was pleasant enough. Bintang beer was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Satay this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
