Holiday memory — Rendang that transported me back

I first ate Rendang on a trip five years ago and have been searching for a version this good ever since. This restaurant finally delivered the deeply spiced with galangal and lemongrass quality I remembered. terasi shrimp paste was handled correctly — something most restaurants here get slightly wrong.

rendang from West Sumatra is consistently voted one of the world's most delicious dishes. It was the a Padang restaurant with displayed dishes memory that I was really chasing and this recreated it. jamu herbal drink was offered and brought the whole experience together. Some dishes are attached to a time and place. This one finally restored that attachment.
