First time trying Tikka Masala — completely converted
I had never tried Tikka Masala before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The warmly spiced and aromatic taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. tamarind is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.
The a family home kitchen on a weekend setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. Indian cuisine varies enormously by state, religion, and climate. My server recommended nimbu pani lemon water alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Tikka Masala. Outstanding first encounter.
