You can taste history in Langos if you know what to look for. paprika only entered Hungarian cooking in the 17th century but now defines the cuisine. The richly paprika-spiced character reflects those layers — Hungarian wax peppers doesn't appear by accident; it came from a specific tradition.

The a family Sunday lunch setting made sense of it. You understand the food differently when the context is right. Dreher beer alongside is part of that story. Some food is just fuel. Langos, properly made, is something more. This version told the story well.
