I spent an afternoon making Baklava from scratch following a traditional recipe. Getting Kalamata olives right was the main challenge — it's not as straightforward as it looks. The bright and lemony result was rewarding once I got it right.

Greek cuisine has influenced the entire Mediterranean culinary tradition for millennia. I served it with Greek coffee after the meal as the recipe suggested and the pairing made sense. It took longer than I expected but the outcome was genuinely satisfying. Making Baklava yourself gives you a new appreciation for what goes into it at a restaurant.
