First time trying Groundnut Soup — completely converted
I had never tried Groundnut Soup before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The subtly sweet from plantain taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. palm nut is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.
The a Ghanaian restaurant abroad setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. the debate over Ghanaian versus Nigerian jollof rice is a celebrated West African rivalry. My server recommended fresh palm wine alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Groundnut Soup. Outstanding first encounter.
