I first ate Black Forest Cake on a trip five years ago and have been searching for a version this good ever since. This restaurant finally delivered the hearty and deeply savoury quality I remembered. caraway seeds was handled correctly — something most restaurants here get slightly wrong.
German bread culture is extraordinarily diverse with over 300 officially registered varieties. It was the a Sunday family roast lunch memory that I was really chasing and this recreated it. Radler shandy was offered and brought the whole experience together. Some dishes are attached to a time and place. This one finally restored that attachment.
