Restaurant review — Black Forest Cake that actually delivered
I'm sceptical of any restaurant claiming to do Black Forest Cake well, having been disappointed often enough. This one delivered. The smoky and satisfying base was authentic and the use of dark rye bread showed real knowledge.
German bread culture is extraordinarily diverse with over 300 officially registered varieties. The atmosphere was genuinely a winter Christmas market, which the food matched. Riesling came with the meal as it should. The portions were generous and the price was fair. A reliable place for this dish.
