You can taste history in Crème Brûlée if you know what to look for. French cuisine is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The deeply layered character reflects those layers — butter doesn't appear by accident; it came from a specific tradition.

The a formal dinner party setting made sense of it. You understand the food differently when the context is right. a digestif of Calvados alongside is part of that story. Some food is just fuel. Crème Brûlée, properly made, is something more. This version told the story well.
