Restaurant review — Shiro that actually delivered
I'm sceptical of any restaurant claiming to do Shiro well, having been disappointed often enough. This one delivered. The deep and earthy base was authentic and the use of niter kibbeh spiced clarified butter showed real knowledge.
Ethiopian communal eating with no utensils from a shared injera is a social and hygienic tradition. The atmosphere was genuinely an Addis Ababa restaurant, which the food matched. tej honey wine came with the meal as it should. The portions were generous and the price was fair. A reliable place for this dish.
