Underwhelming Ful Medames — expected more

I was looking forward to Ful Medames here based on the reputation. The reality was disappointing. The deeply savoury and spiced character that makes this dish special was muted — either from shortcuts with coriander seed or from scaling up production at the expense of quality.

Egyptian cuisine is one of the oldest recorded food cultures, with accounts dating to pharaonic times. The a traditional Egyptian koshari shop setting I was hoping for wasn't quite there either. karkadeh hibiscus tea was available but not suggested appropriately. I've had much better versions elsewhere. Two stars because the dish concept is sound; the execution let it down.
