First time trying Flæskesteg — completely converted

I had never tried Flæskesteg before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The buttery and rich taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. rye bread rugbrød is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a Christmas julefrokost feast setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. the julefrokost Christmas lunch is a major social event with traditional dishes strictly observed. My server recommended cold buttermilk alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Flæskesteg. Outstanding first encounter.
