Decent Svíčková — nothing more, nothing less

Svíčková at this place was fine. The hearty and deeply savoury flavour was there but not distinguished. pork knuckle was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.

Czech cuisine is inseparable from beer culture, one of the world's highest per-capita consumption nations. The a ski resort lunch setting was generic rather than immersive. Czech Pilsner Urquell was offered but not explained. If you're in the area and want Svíčková it'll do. If you're going out of your way, look elsewhere.
