I spent three months trying every version of Sancocho I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled plantain with genuine knowledge and the richly textured result was noticeably superior.

the bandeja paisa plate is a point of Antioquian cultural pride. The winning restaurant had the right an Antioquia bandeja paisa restaurant feel — unpretentious and focused on the food. tinto black coffee was suggested correctly. Worth the search. When Sancocho is made properly it's a completely different experience.
