Honest verdict on Curanto — good but not exceptional
Curanto here was solidly made — simple and hearty without anything to complain about. Carménère wine was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.
Chilean cuisine reflects the extraordinary length of the country with Pacific seafood, Andean ingredients, and Patagonian lamb all defining different regions. The a family asado atmosphere was pleasant enough. Carménère was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Curanto this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
