Honest verdict on Split Pea Soup — good but not exceptional

Split Pea Soup here was solidly made — rich and indulgent without anything to complain about. maple syrup was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

maple syrup production is a seasonal Quebec ritual celebrated at family sugar shacks. The an east coast seafood shack atmosphere was pleasant enough. Canadian rye whisky was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Split Pea Soup this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
