I first ate Butter Tart on a trip five years ago and have been searching for a version this good ever since. This restaurant finally delivered the fresh and clean quality I remembered. Arctic char was handled correctly — something most restaurants here get slightly wrong.

poutine emerged from Quebec rural diners in the 1950s and became Canada's most internationally recognised dish. It was the an east coast seafood shack memory that I was really chasing and this recreated it. Nanaimo bar dessert was offered and brought the whole experience together. Some dishes are attached to a time and place. This one finally restored that attachment.
