I ate Samlor Korko at three different restaurants in the same week to compare. The results were illuminating. The use of kroeung lemongrass paste varied significantly — only one got it right. The delicate and herbal profile should be consistent but interpretation differs widely.

prahok is a uniquely Cambodian ingredient that foreigners find challenging but locals consider essential. The best version came from a village feast during festival season, which felt authentic. Angkor beer was offered at all three but only one knew how to serve it properly. The gap between mediocre and excellent Samlor Korko is larger than you'd think.
