Amok here was solidly made — subtly fermented and umami without anything to complain about. prahok fermented fish paste was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Cambodian cuisine shares roots with Thai and Vietnamese cooking but has its own distinct identity shaped by Khmer culture. The a traditional home kitchen atmosphere was pleasant enough. Angkor beer was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Amok this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
