First time trying Shan Noodles — completely converted

I had never tried Shan Noodles before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The savoury and slightly sour taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. fermented tea leaves laphet is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a Yangon tea shop setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. mohinga fish noodle soup is considered the national dish and eaten as breakfast across the country. My server recommended Myanmar Beer alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Shan Noodles. Outstanding first encounter.
