I ate Ohno Khao Swè at three different restaurants in the same week to compare. The results were illuminating. The use of fermented tea leaves laphet varied significantly — only one got it right. The pungent and fermented profile should be consistent but interpretation differs widely.

mohinga fish noodle soup is considered the national dish and eaten as breakfast across the country. The best version came from a traditional Burmese home breakfast, which felt authentic. fresh lime soda was offered at all three but only one knew how to serve it properly. The gap between mediocre and excellent Ohno Khao Swè is larger than you'd think.
