The best Mont Di I've ever had came from a street stall, not a restaurant. The savoury and slightly sour intensity was completely different — more direct and uncompromised. fermented tea leaves laphet was used without hesitation, the way it should be.

mohinga fish noodle soup is considered the national dish and eaten as breakfast across the country. The a Mandalay restaurant setting meant eating standing up or on a low stool, which is how this food is supposed to be encountered. lahpet yay tea leaf tea was sold right next to it. Don't wait to find the 'right' restaurant. Find the street version first.
