Honest verdict on Danbauk — good but not exceptional

Danbauk here was solidly made — warming with turmeric without anything to complain about. fermented tea leaves laphet was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

laphet fermented tea leaf salad is a uniquely Burmese ingredient used in salads and as a stimulant snack. The a Yangon tea shop atmosphere was pleasant enough. Myanmar Beer was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Danbauk this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
