I spent three months trying every version of Scotch Egg I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled malt vinegar with genuine knowledge and the comforting and hearty result was noticeably superior.

pub food culture has undergone a renaissance in the gastropub era. The winning restaurant had the right a Sunday pub lunch feel — unpretentious and focused on the food. English Breakfast tea was suggested correctly. Worth the search. When Scotch Egg is made properly it's a completely different experience.
