Street food Fish and Chips — the authentic version

The best Fish and Chips I've ever had came from a street stall, not a restaurant. The comforting and hearty intensity was completely different — more direct and uncompromised. malt vinegar was used without hesitation, the way it should be.

pub food culture has undergone a renaissance in the gastropub era. The a country house hotel setting meant eating standing up or on a low stool, which is how this food is supposed to be encountered. a glass of claret with Sunday roast was sold right next to it. Don't wait to find the 'right' restaurant. Find the street version first.
