First time trying Panta Bhat — completely converted

I had never tried Panta Bhat before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The spicy and tangy taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. hilsa fish is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a Dhaka riverside fish restaurant setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. Bengali cuisine shares roots with West Bengal India but has distinct Muslim food traditions. My server recommended lassi alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Panta Bhat. Outstanding first encounter.
