Beef Kala Bhuna opened a door into a cuisine I'd previously known almost nothing about. The earthy from poppy seeds flavours are unlike anything in my usual rotation and I mean that positively. hilsa fish is a cultural icon in Bangladesh — its seasonal availability is a national event. Understanding that context made the dish taste different — richer with meaning.

I learned that posto poppy seeds is central to this cuisine's character, not just a seasoning. The a Dhaka riverside fish restaurant setting was authentic and helpful for understanding what I was eating. aam panna green mango drink completed the picture. A genuinely educational meal.
