Honest verdict on Beef Kala Bhuna — good but not exceptional

Beef Kala Bhuna here was solidly made — pungent from mustard oil without anything to complain about. green chilli was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Bengali cuisine shares roots with West Bengal India but has distinct Muslim food traditions. The a family Friday hilsa lunch atmosphere was pleasant enough. aam panna green mango drink was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Beef Kala Bhuna this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
