Decent Dolma — nothing more, nothing less

Dolma at this place was fine. The aromatic with fresh herbs flavour was there but not distinguished. saffron was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.

Azerbaijani cuisine reflects Turkic, Persian, and Caucasian influences meeting at a historical crossroads. The a wedding feast setting was generic rather than immersive. Xirdalan beer was offered but not explained. If you're in the area and want Dolma it'll do. If you're going out of your way, look elsewhere.
