The Tim Tam I grew up eating — memory as a review
I grew up eating Tim Tam and have strong opinions shaped by memory. The version here triggered that recognition in the first bite — the intensely savoury from Vegemite was right, bush tucker wattle seed was handled the way it should be.
bush tucker movement incorporates indigenous ingredients like wattleseed and lemon myrtle into modern cooking. Growing up it was always an outback pub meal, which shaped my reference point entirely. Tim Tam with tea alongside it is the only way it makes sense to me. It's hard to be objective about food you have emotional history with, but objectively: this is very good.
